Even though men are less addicted to fashion, there are also trend followers that always attempt to go with latest style and news from famous designers.

This season some new trends are equal for women and men and some are different. Particularly shorts are going to be essential of menswear this season. It’s not a new thing but the colors, models are different.

From Spring Summer 2013 designer collection we chose the most popular used by designers:

1. Shorts

Tailored shorts paired with blazers or shorts suits, were the key piece in runways. There were so many variations, shorts paired with single-breasted blazer, printed shorts or patterned. Shorts suits by Junya Watanabe, sets of two pieces, double-breasted blazers with black shorts. He also used colors to create a contrast, white, black, grey, pink etc. Shorts were also seen at Raf Simons, Richard James and J.Crew.

 2. Stripes

Stripes are one of the top trends of Spring Summer 2013, for women and for men. Striped jacket, trousers or t-shirt, this trend is a must this season. Designers like J.Crew, Acne, Tommy Hilfiger and Dolce & Gabbana used stripes in their collections.

3. Vibrant and fluorescent colors

Yes, neon colors were a trend of last year but they are also in vogue this year. Men’s collections were with an explosion of colors, shades of icy blue, bright yellow or neon orange. And is surprising how tangerine color match perfectly with blue. These shades can be wearing in a t-shirt, shoes, and bags or even in suits and blazers. Although these hues are very trendy, they can’t be wearing in everyday life or in offices. Maybe you can choose something appropriate for a weekend or a party with friends. Designers like: Salvatore Ferragamo, E Tautz, Gucci, Hermes and Topman Design offers you so many alternatives and choices.

 4. Patterns

Spring-Summer 2013 collections offer a variety of prints and patterns, chromatic mixes and appealing solids, floral or geometric prints. A season chic and casual at the same time. Floral blooms or bouquet grouping seems a little weird for males, but they are proposed by designers like: Versace, Paul Smith, Gucci and Bottega Veneta. Another print trend is animal print. Leopard or snakeskin mono print are so used in jackets, blazers, trousers or shorts. Also abstract and geometric prints are used by Kenzo, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Burberry Prorsum, Alexander McQueen etc.

5. Metallic Trend

One of the most new tendencies is use of metallic. Burberry Prorsum was one of designers that used mostly this new trend. He used it in trench coats, blouses or only a metallic collar. The shades were green, blue, fuchsia, orange and bronze. Maybe they are not wearable but if you want to be in vogue you can use metallic accessories such as: bags, collar, belt or shoes. However you can take a look to the outfits showcased in Versace, Acne and Lanvin collections, you can be inspired by them.

6. Suits

Suits are something that every guy has at least one in his closet. But this season designers proposed a retro style of 20s. A mix of modern and retro elements, create a unique style. In fashion are skinny trousers with creases, high-waist, fitted jacket, one or double button that remain relevant. Also military details are very trendy. The shades are different like: brown, grey, blue or navy but also color block are still in vogue. Don’t forget the suits with shorts, with length to the knee or below it. Suits are seen in Calvin Klein, Vivienne Westwood, Jil Sander, Emporio Armani, Versace, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo etc.

7. Black and white

White and black are timeless colors always in vogue. White is perfect for spring and summer, it can be paired with other colors or pattern and printed. Stripes, graphic or geometric and printed outfits were proposed by John Galliano, Philip Lim, Kenzo, Versace and Etro.
