Males or females, everybody wants to have a clear, smooth and flawless skin. Who’s that person that doesn’t want to banish zits forever? No one.

Your skin tells a lot about your health and it’s very important not only for a good first impression but also to feel good with yourself. To achieve this goal you have to follow these 7 simple rules:

The first and most important step to a clear skin is to wash your face. Always clean your makeup before going to bed because it clogs pores and prevent your skin to breathe. Use a gentle cleanser appropriate for your skin type. The cleanser is recommended to contain 2% salicylic acid because it helps the cells to shed rapidly, open pores and neutralizing bacteria in them by allowing the growth of new cells. Be careful about the eye area. It must be treated separately with a specific eye cleanser because the eye area skin is more sensitive compared with other parts.

2. Exfoliate

At least once a week you have to exfoliate your skin. It cleans and removes dead cells on the surface, leaving your skin smooth and radiant. Persons with oily skin should exfoliate more often than those with dry skin. You can choose cosmetic products or you can do your own scrub recipe at home. If after the exfoliation your skin turns red and irritates, probably you should scrub rarely and with gentle products. Remember, less is better than over treating.

3. Don’t pop your zits

We know it’s hard to resist not squeezing them, but try. By popping them you risk to get infection, inflammation, scarring and acne. Instead choose a reliable product that treats blemishes and get your hands off. But if you do, at least disinfect the area with a product that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid that also helps to unclog the pore.

4. Keep it hydrated

If the skin is dry and sensitive, it’s more risked at sun damages or different disorders.  Choose a moisturizer and use it everyday after cleansing or a bath. Also drinking plenty of water and eating healthy foods like: vegetables, fruits, nuts or food rich in antioxidants helps your skin hydration.
